We were thrilled that Colorado Christian University approached Joyco (for the second time) to create their 2012 recruitement video.

This year the project experience was different in that the concept was mostly footage based instead of graphic based. You can watch the animated video we created in 2009 on our portfolio page or vimeo page here.

After a few creative meetings with CCU staff, Joyco crafted the concept of "A day in the life" of a student. All the different aspects of life for a CCU student in the course of a year. The adventure spans from waking up in a tent, to going to class, to spending the afternoon skiing, to heading downtown and engaging in the community. One of the important aspects for us was weaving together CCU's unique community, location, academics, athletics and spirituality for a total visual experience.

Early on we decided to let the music direct our editing choices, connecting graphics, effects and footage with the beats in the song. Each logo (or title) was designed by our team in conjunction with CCU's current look book. We added a twitch to the footage, color effects from Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks, lens flare transitions, and tracking within the titles.

Another amazing experience creating a recruitement video for CCU's prospective student. Visit their website www.ccu.edu for more information about their educational opportunities and experiences.

Production companes are comprised of Producers, Directors, Assistants, Videographers, Editors, animators, etc. It is our job is to create a video based on the information collected from the client during all stages of the process. Sometimes however, we find that clients rely too heavily on committee decisions during the making of a video.

Tip #1 Choose One Decision Maker
Our advice, choose one person in the company to make the decisions and communicate with us. This one person will filter out extra comments, revisions and internal conflict. This will insure that we are able to concentrate on our job and get you the best possible product.

Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains in Lakewood, Colorado, Red Rocks Community College offers more than 150 programs and 650 courses leading to two-year degrees or professional certificates.

RRCC approached Joyco to create a student admissions video for 2012. Using photographs and some supplemental footage we were able to bring the college to life for prospective students.

We started concepting, first creating original paint splatters that are used throughout as backgrounds, masks and as texture. The logo shapes were then re-made in After Effects and keyframed into a pop-up effect. The last few steps we added lens flares, color vignettes, film grain, and a shallow depth of field to complete the look.
